The Lapworth Local History Group was founded in 1965 with the aim to foster and encourage learning about history with a focus on local issues, especially in Warwickshire and the Midlands of England’. The President is the local historian, Joy Woodall, author of Portrait of Lapworth. The Group is affiliated to the British Association for Local History, Warwickshire Local History Society and Friends of the Warwickshire County Record Office. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings in September, October, November, January, March and April at Lapworth Village Hall. The group also organises three or four visits each summer/autumn with coach transport starting from the Village Hall.
Joining the group is easy. Come along to one of our meetings, or contact us online. Annual membership costs £10 for adults and £5 for students. New members and visitors (a small charge of £3 is made) are always welcome to our meetings. Tea/coffee and biscuits are available at most meetings. We meet at Lapworth Village Hall on the Old Warwick Road (B94 6LD) for the Tuesday evening meetings at 7.45 p.m.
