Places

Dorridge  – Dorridge is neither urban nor a village. However, it sits right next to Lapworth and the Warwickshire countryside, with green fields being a short walk from Dorridge centre.

The railway station is on the line between London and Birmingham. Chiltern Railways have created an inter-city route out of the run-down remnants of what had become primarily a goods line.  A London Midland route now terminates in Dorridge (or Leamington Spa), from Birmingham.

Dorridge has a small shopping centre with a wide selection of shops including a good sized supermarket and an independent pharmacy; a village hall; at least three churches; and a number of primary schools. It has a substantial park bordering the countryside. There are also a few small cafe’s, restaurants, a variety of takeaways and three pubs.

Henley in Arden – Henley in Arden is a medieval market town with many buildings of historic interest along its High Street.  Just a 10 minute drive away, there are many shops, restaurants, wine bars and pubs, and of course no trip to Henley is complete without visiting the famous Henley Ice Cream Parlour and Tea Rooms.

Hockley Heath – Hockley Heath is a thriving village community on the border of Lapworth.  There are a range of local shops and services available plus pubs and restaurants, Chinese and Indian take-aways, and a fish and chip shop.

Bus Timetables – Warwickshire County Council have a web page of all bus services in the area, and you can search it for Lapworth bus services.

They offer free, confidential, impartial and independent advice for all members of the South Warwickshire community, including those living in Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Warwick and the surrounding towns and villages.

Lapworth Surgery – where you can access a wide range of health services.  Lapworth Surgery is located beside the Stratford Canal, close to its junction with the Grand Union Canal.  The Surgery was opened in 1991 to serve the residents of Lapworth and neighbouring villages.  Dr Gareth Rowland and Dr Caron Bates took over the Practice in November 2009.

Police – Warwick Rural West – Crime figures map for Lapworth and the rest of Warwick Rural West.

Additionally, Warwickshire Police have launched a series of help and advice pages and downloadable leaflets in the Contact us section on their website.

This information is there to support members of the public in ‘making the right call’ in the event of something happening and, to make the right call to the right service, first time.

This in turn will reduce the number of calls going in to the Warwickshire Police Communications Centre, meaning that the staff are available for the Grade 1 emergency calls and to reduce the waiting time for anyone calling in on 101.
