Amateur Dramatic Society

Lapworth Players are a friendly, active and well-established local drama group based in the heart of the village. We aim to put on a spring play and pantomime or Christmas show every year in the village hall, along with a fun member’s evening.  We welcome new members of all ages and people with or without experience can join in and take part, either acting on stage, or in one of the many other roles such as set building, lights, sound or even producing shows. We have lots of fun, while doing our best to produce high quality entertainment!

LAPWORTH PLAYERS ARE LOOKING FOR A LIGHTING ASSISTANT

We’re on the lookout for someone enthusiastic, practical and keen to get hands-on with theatre lighting.

Whether you’re experienced or just eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll be working with:

A Zero 88 FLX 46 lighting console with 18 DMX fixtures

A 24-channel dimmer system running our tungsten rig

We have a friendly, supportive backstage team who’ll help you get up to speed. No previous theatre experience is required, just an interest in tech, a willingness to learn and the ability to commit to show weeks and rehearsals. You will be made to feel very welcome.

COMING SOON TO A VILLAGE HALL NEAR YOU …………..

Exciting News!!!

Lapworth Players’ next production is ‘Ladies Day’ a very funny play about luck, love and living life to the full and written by Amanda Whittington.

A little taster ………. Four fish factory workers swap their hairnets for hats and fascinators and head off for a day at the races ………..

……….. the four friends (Pearl, Shelley, Jan and Linda) arrive at the racecourse for an unforgettable day out.  Secrets are spilled whilst they down champagne and friendships are tested to the limit and tempers fray as the day continues BUT ‘good news’ as in the background the ‘accumulator bet’ keeps quietly winning and  the ladies could hit the jackpot ………. if their nerves hold.
